What We’ll Cover Each Week

DAY 1: Story Foundation

Establish the anchor for your plot with story concept clarity and structural numbers (word count, chapter count, chapters per act) that guide all plotting decisions.

DAY 2: Act 1 — Guarded Heart

Learn how to open with disruption, establish wounds and defenses, and end with an irrevocable decision that binds them together.

DAY 3: Act 2 — The Heart Opens

Discover how to build push/pull rhythm, escalate romantic tension, and land the midpoint where desire outweighs denial.

DAY 4: Act 3 — Shielding the Heart

Understand how to plot the fracture where fear, wounds, and stakes collide—creating the crisis event and All Is Lost moment.

DAY 5: Act 4 — Ready to Love

Learn how to map the individual reckoning, the grand gesture, and the resolution where all three arcs close together.

About Me

Hey, my writing friend, I’m Dana.
And if there’s one thing I know, it’s how to turn books into addictive experiences that keep readers coming back for more.
In the last 20 years, I’ve gone from an aspiring author to a USA Today bestselling romance and PNR writer, developmental editor, and book coach.
I’ve published 100+ novels, helped countless authors sharpen their stories, and built a thriving writing career.
But more than that, I’ve plotted hundreds of books for myself and helped clients write and publish thousands of novels.
This is what I do. Plotting books is my specialty. It’s the foundation of everything I’ve built—and what I’ve helped so many other authors build too.
That’s exactly what this live coaching experience is about.
Because the authors who succeed aren’t the ones who just get ideas… they’re the ones who know exactly how to turn those ideas into a book that works.
I can’t wait to show you how to finally plot the novel and series you’ve been dreaming of—so you can confidently take your next step as an author.

Quick Q&A

Will this work for the type of romance I write?

Yes! Whether you write contemporary, small-town, paranormal, historical, fantasy, or anything in between—if your goal is to write an engaging, bingeable romance novel (and eventually a series), this Bootcamp is for you.

Do I have to write romance to join?

This bootcamp teaches the 4-act framework specifically designed for romance novels. All examples, live demonstrations, and teaching will focus on romance structure—the emotional arcs, turning points, and reader expectations that make romance work.

That said, I've had students in other genres use this framework successfully because it gives them a clear understanding of 4-act structure and emotional pacing. If you write romance (contemporary, suspense, fantasy, historical—any subgenre), this is exactly for you. If you write other genres, you'll need to adapt the lessons to your own story needs.

Do I have to have a finished book to join?

Not at all. Whether you’re just starting your first draft or you’ve been stuck in the messy middle for months, you’ll walk away with a clear roadmap and plan for your novel and series.

What’s the difference between General Admission and VIP?

All participants get access to the full 4-week live coaching experience and 24-hour replays. VIP students also get exclusive private pre-session Q&A time with me and access to limited small group hot seats for even more personalized feedback.

What if I can’t make it live?

No worries! Every session will have a replay available for approximately 24 hours before the next session replaces it. Live attendance is encouraged for the best experience, but we’ve designed it to be flexible for busy schedules.

How much time do I need to set aside?

We meet for about 1 hour each day, Monday–Friday (February 9–13, 2026). That's 5 hours total for the entire bootcamp. You can participate live or watch the replay within the 24-hour window.

If you're plotting along with us (which I highly encourage) and applying what you learn to your own story, plan for an additional 1.5–2 hours per day for implementation work. This gives you time to use the workbook and build your plot as we go.

Do I need any special software or skills?

Nope! All you need is a Zoom account (free) and a willingness to learn. I’ll guide you through everything step by step.

Will I get templates or worksheets?

You’ll receive a Bootcamp workbook to help guide your note-taking and reflection. However, the real power of this experience comes from listening, watching the coaching in action, and applying what you learn. The workbook is there to support your learning—not replace the coaching.

I have one last question…how can I contact you?

I’d love to help! If you have any last-minute questions, feel free to email me HERE or reach out in the DTW Community.
